The Firm has provided its advisory services for various large scale real estate projects and infrastructure development projects in the country. We work with a diverse range of clients including property developers, hotels, owners of commercial buildings and mixed-use developments.
Key Matters Handled
- Migaa Golf Estate, Kiambu – A large-scale mixed-use development (residential, commercial, and golf course) spanning 774 acres. We were involved from the project’s inception, advising on its structuring and preparing the legal documentation (including agreements for lease and sub-leases) for the sale of fully serviced plots designated for the construction of pre-approved high-end villas and commercial premises. We are currently handling the registration of sub-leases for each plot. The project is valued at over USD 2 billion (KES 260 billion).
- Savuti Homes, Kitisuru – We were engaged from the project’s conception. Our role included structuring the development, preparing agreements for sale, management agreements, and overseeing the registration of titles. The project has an estimated value of USD 18 million.
- Mombasa Special Economic Zone (Dongo Kundu) – The Firm is acting for the Kenya Ports Authority in the implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan for the compensation and resettlement of over 2,000 families to pave the way for the establishment of the Special Economic Zone on a parcel of land spanning 3,000 acres. This project is particularly impactful as it forms part of Kenya’s national development blueprint, Vision 2030, supporting the country’s objective of enhancing infrastructure to drive economic transformation and sustained growth.
- Advising the County Pension Fund on the lawful eviction and compensation of over 250 affected persons in Mombasa County the potential legal, reputational and litigation risks to enable the client re-develop the premises in a transaction valued at over KES 3.5 Billion.
- Acting for a leading tier 1 commercial bank in connection with processing titles for several parcels of land allotted to the bank by the Government, as well as preparing and registering leases for its branches across the country.
